Nuit Blanche
I'm a bit late with this post, but you guys are probably used to that. A few weeks ago, the night of Saturday October 2
nd through 3
rd Nuit Blanche ("Sleepless Night" or literally translated as "white night") was celebrated throughout Paris and a number of other major cities around the world (Rome, Brussels, Montréal, to name some).
Now in it's fourth year, it's become a tradition of insomnia for one long October night. Throughout the Nuit Blanche many museums, libraries, monuments, places of worship, tourist sites, cinemas, parks and gardens, hospitals, swimming pools, city buildings, and universities in Paris stay open all night with expositions of art and music.
So along with around 1.3 million visitors that were wandering along with us and despite the chill air of that cold night, we nearly made it through the whole night (I think we got in around 5:30-6am) exploring one of the set courses (there were five, and many other independent projects scattered around the city). We only scratched the surface with everything there was to see, but there were a couple really interesting expositions that we're glad that we didn't miss.

obsessed with at the moment
I just discovered
Vienna Teng, and I love her! I have both her albums--a fill of unique, raw, honest lyrics, addictive piano, and a strong, haunting voice. Some of her noted influences: Paul Simon, Peter Paul & Mary, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls.
Also, I'm kinda interested in
Lene Marlin, from Norway. She's my pop fix right now. My favorite song is "My Love."
